White Space Leadership · With Horses
The Horsepower Day.
One day in a field. The clarity months at your desk have not produced.
A small group day for established business owners, working with horses. Led by Jenni Winter-Leach.
Ten places. Deliberately.
Take a founding placeWhat you leave with
You arrive circling. You leave clear.
By the end of the day you have:
- Clarity on the decision you have been circling for weeks or months. The one around direction, offers or priorities that quietly slows progress and drains mental energy until it is resolved.
- Named and understood the pattern that has been shaping how you run your business. Holding on to too much, avoiding difficult conversations, procrastination, overcomplicating decisions or not trusting others enough. Small shifts here unlock capacity, momentum and growth, fast.
- Clearer priorities, faster decisions and renewed focus on the activities that actually move your business forward.
You already know the theory. This is not more theory.聽
This is a proper in the moment reset, with the clarity and tools to act on what makes the biggest difference so it lasts.
Away from the desk
Your best thinking has never once happened mid inbox.
Every hour at a desk in front of a screen holds your body in low level alert. Notifications, decisions, demands. The stress system never fully switches off, cortisol stays elevated and the brain narrows into short term, reactive mode. Useful for firefighting but useless for the direction your business really needs.
In one study of chronically stressed executives, 90% showed measurable cognitive (thinking) impairment. The thinking you need most is the first thing pressure at a聽screen takes away.
Nature reverses this, measurably. The University of Michigan research found that time in nature significantly lowers cortisol within around twenty minutes. As the stress hormones drop, the thinking brain (prefrontal cortex) comes back online. So your perspective widens, creative connections start firing again and the problem you have been staring at for weeks looks different.
That is why this day happens mostly in a field. The setting is doing half the work before we even begin.
If this is you
You built something real. Somehow, running it has become one of the hardest things you have ever done.
Not because you lack capability.
Because you wake at 6am and it is already running in your head. You go to bed with a clenched jaw. The to do list is colour coded and still not actioned. You know exactly what needs doing. You just cannot make yourself do it.
There is one more layer that rarely gets said out loud.
You feel completely alone in it.
The people around you see the successful version. The team sees the decisive version. Nobody sees the version circling the same decision at 3am, wondering why someone this capable cannot simply crack on.
You have tried things. Coaching. Masterminds. Strategy. Some helped for a while. None of it held.
That is because the approaches you tried were working on the wrong layer.
Why nothing has worked
The patterns driving the overwhelm were not created by thought. They cannot be resolved by thought.
Every programme you have invested in has worked at the level of the thinking brain. Insight. Strategy. Reframes.
The pattern that keeps pulling you back, the reactive mode, the inability to switch off, the 3am mind, the procrastination on the things that actually matter, that was not installed by thinking. It was installed much earlier, at the level of the nervous system, through years of conditioning and lived experience.
You cannot remove a nervous system pattern by talking about it. You can understand it. Manage it. But it comes back, because the root has not been touched.
“You cannot think your way out of a pattern that thought did not create.”
This is not a character flaw. It is a physiological reality. It means the problem is solvable, just not with the tools you have been given.
Why horses
This is not a gimmick. This is a precision tool.
Horses respond to the internal state of the person in front of them. Not to words. Not to titles. Not to how someone presents themselves. They give instant, unfiltered feedback on what is actually happening inside you. In real time, before your cognitive brain has a chance to manage the impression.
They do something else too. Horses are herd animals with a calm, settled baseline, and being around them helps your own system settle to match. As your nervous system regulates, the reactive noise drops away and your best thinking and problem solving come back online. People regularly make more progress on a stuck problem in an afternoon with the horses than in weeks at their desk.
In 2023 alone, 106 peer reviewed research papers documented the results of equine assisted programmes. Research on equine assisted leadership development consistently shows improvements in effectiveness, emotional attunement and adaptive leadership.
There is no riding. No horse experience is required. The work takes place quietly on the ground, in the horses’ environment.
The horses show you what is there. Then they help you shift it.
A space to be honest
No audience. No performance. No judgement.
The more successful you become, the fewer places exist where you can stop being the business owner and simply be yourself. Everyone around you needs you to be certain. The team, the clients, the family. So you perform certainty, even to yourself.
This day is built to be the exception. Ten business owners, capped deliberately so the work stays personal. Nobody to impress, nothing to prove and no judgement about whatever surfaces.
Watching another business owner meet the exact pattern you thought was yours alone. Hearing someone describe your 3am in their words. Realising the internal cost you have been quietly paying is not a personal failing. It is a shared occupational reality that almost nobody talks about.
The isolation lifts in the first hour. The honesty is where the work happens.
How the day works
Structure creates the container. What happens inside it is yours.
Morning, with the horses
The day begins outdoors in a calm rural setting near Woking. The environment immediately starts lowering activation and quieting the cognitive noise. Through a series of quiet interactions on the ground, you will see how the horses respond to you and what that reveals about your internal state, your leadership patterns and the dynamics you carry into every room you walk into.
Nothing is performed. The most powerful moments are the ones nobody planned.
Midday, lunch nearby
Space to eat, decompress and let the morning settle. The most interesting realisations often arrive here, when you are not trying to have them.
Afternoon, integration and application
We take what surfaced in the morning and work with it properly. Not through theory. Through reflection, targeted group coaching and practical application to your specific business, decisions and direction.
You leave with clarity on the pattern that has been costing you most, a precise understanding of where it shows up in how you lead and decide, plus a clear practical direction from this point forward.
Not a feeling. A shift.
Who this is for
You have already built something meaningful. This is for leading it in a way that is sustainable, clear and genuinely yours.
This day is right for you if:
- You run an established business, carry significant responsibility and make decisions that actually matter.
- You are successful by external measures and depleted by what it costs internally.
- You have tried coaching, strategy and mindset work. Nothing has shifted at the root.
- You are done managing symptoms. You want to resolve the cause.
This is not for people who are struggling.
It is for people who are succeeding and want to stop paying the internal cost of how they are doing it.
To be clear
This is not
a strategy day
a wellness retreat
therapy
a talking shop where you leave with a notebook full of ideas and nothing shifted
a mindset programme that works at the cognitive level and leaves the pattern intact
This is a precise recalibration of how you think, respond, lead and move. In a field, with horses, alongside people who get it.
Your coach
Led by Jenni Winter-Leach.
Jenni is the founder of White Space Leadership. She has spent nearly two decades working with senior leaders, business owners and athletes from grassroots to Team GB level. Her coaching is internationally accredited. Her equine assisted methodology is grounded in research.
At 29, fast tracked and polished on the outside, she was running on exhaustion, brain fog and a pattern she had never stopped to examine. She teaches this work because she has lived the before state and knows what is on the other side of it.
A maximum of ten people means genuinely personal attention, all day.
